Benton Tigers (7-2) locked up a home playoff game with a 42-20 victory over a pesky Northwood Falcons (2-7) at Jerry Burton Memorial Stadium on Northwood’s senior night.
Benton’s strong defensive second half withstood the air attack from the Bogan brothers, senior Peyton (Sr.) who threw for 160 yards and freshman Luke who passed for 87 yards.
“We executed (in the second half),” Benton coach Reynolds Moore said. “Our defense played better. At halftime, I didn’t fuss or didn’t say a whole lot….you’re leaving them in the game and they’re going to fight you. They are fighting for a place in the playoff. You leave them a crease in the door, they are going to take it. The first half they played their guts out. Came out in second half, we got a force, we got a pick. I thought we came out kind of flat and that pick set the tone and a big momentum shift.” To read the rest of the article click the link http://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/sports/high-school/football/2016/10/29/benton-pulls-away-northwood/92852482/
